Homecoming

Who is this dashing young lad and how did he get so big so fast? Can that really be our baby? This was his first time wearing a blazer, in public. When he was little, his sisters used to dress him up in a way-too-big  blue-and-white seersucker hand-me-down blazer someone gave me when he was a toddler.

Choosing a homecoming court seems like such an archaic notion, doesn’t it? Having captains choose teams at recess has gone by the wayside; why hasn’t this? Nonetheless, I’m proud of him. If nothing else, for cleaning up well. But of course, for more than just that.
